The school actively innovates school-enterprise and school-local cooperation, and has established comprehensive cooperative relations with more than 30 large enterprises such as China Baowu, Evergrande Group, Anshan Iron and Steel Group, Liuzhou Iron and Steel Group, China First Metallurgical Group, and MCC Southern, as well as relevant cities and prefectures in and outside the province such as Wuhan, Yichang, Xiaogan, Wuxi, Zibo, and Zhanjiang. It has established the "China Baowu-Wuhan University of Science and Technology Carbon Materials Joint Engineering Research Center", "Wuhan University of Science and Technology Yixing Ceramics and Refractory Materials Research Institute", "Wuhan University of Science and Technology-Laohekou City Science and Technology Research Institute", "Wuhan University of Science and Technology-Xiangzhou District Science and Technology Research Institute", and co-built the "Evergrande Management College" and "Evergrande Football College" with Evergrande Group; it has built 1 directly affiliated tertiary-level A-level hospital, 1 directly affiliated secondary hospital and 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals; it has established more than 20 social awards and grants such as the Pu Nai Scholarship, Niobium Steel Scholarship, Huiling Scholarship, Shenghui Scholarship, Chuangze Innovation Scholarship, Yeji 77 Scholarship, and Shangrao Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. The school adheres to the principle of facing the world and running schools in an open manner. It has established academic exchanges and cooperation with nearly 100 universities and research institutes in dozens of countries and regions such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Japan, Italy, and the Netherlands, and has carried out exchanges and cooperation in many aspects such as student exchanges, teacher visits, and joint scientific research. It has jointly built joint laboratories and research centers with the Technical University of Freiberg in Germany, the University of Leoben in Austria, and the Amsterdam Big Data Center in the Netherlands. It has cooperated with the University of Bridgeport in the United States, Deakin University in Australia, and Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom to organize undergraduate education programs, and cooperated with the Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands to organize master's education programs. Nearly 500 foreign students are enrolled in undergraduate majors such as clinical medicine, civil engineering, international economics and trade, and mechanical engineering, as well as first-level disciplines such as materials science and engineering, control science and engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and technology, safety science and engineering, mining engineering, and systems science and engineering.
